Vancouver FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Vancouver.

When is the best time to visit Vancouver?

Spring (April-May) and summer (late June to mid-September) are the most popular times to visit Vancouver. The Spring blossoms make the city even more attractive while summer is comfortably mild and relatively dry. Summer is also the best time for whale watching trips, which run June-September. Autumn (September-October) and winter (November-March) are quite wet with a lot of rain, but it’s milder than elsewhere in Canada with little snowfall.

What is the time difference between the UK and Vancouver?

Vancouver is in the Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8:00) and switches to Pacific Daylight Time (GMT -7) on the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November.

What places combine well with Vancouver?

Vancouver is the gateway to British Columbia, easily combined with nearby Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast to the west, Whistler and the mountain ranges to the north-east via the spectacular Sea to Sky highway.

What are the main cultural events in Vancouver?

January & February – Dine Out Festival
February – International Wine Festival
June/July – International Jazz Festival
June to September – Bard on the Beach
July – Celebration of Light
October/November – International Film Festival
