Nature Tour to Maligne Lake
Jasper is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies with emerald lakes, glacial peaks, waterfalls, canyons and evergreen forests filled with wildlife. A great way to explore one of the most spectacular areas of this huge protected area is on a nature tour to Maligne Lake.
The first stop is at Maligne Canyon where 10,000 years of erosion have created a 49-metre-deep gorge. Take a short walk to watch Maligne River thunder through the canyon in a series of waterfalls. Continue to the mysteriously disappearing Medicine Lake and then to Maligne Lake for a 90-minute interpretative boat cruise to Spirit Island. Alternatively, opt for a 75-minute guided walk along the shoreline trail of Maligne Lake.
