Weather

Weather April to September is the best time to visit Alberta and British Columbia with the warmest weather and the most sunshine. This is also the best period for watching wildlife, including whales and bears. Weather tends to be drier in Alberta with colder winters, and wetter on the coast of British Columbia with milder winters.

Altitude

Destinations such as Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper are over 1,000m, so it’s important to pace yourself and wear warm clothing at these altitudes.
