Wilderness Dog Sled Ride
Enjoy a traditional Alaskan adventure with a two-mile dog sled ride near Seward. You'll start with a visit to the Seavey Family Homestead in Seward and tour this beautiful summer camp for athletes of the famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
Meet the dogs before teams are harnessed to comfortable summer sleds, then mush through rain forest along Box Canyon Creek to the base of Resurrection Mountain.
Your guide will explain how the dogs are trained and upon your return to the kennel, you'll also get to take a tour of the facilities. Guides offer a humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family’s training for the most demanding (dog) race on earth.
