When is the best time to visit Fairbanks?

The best time to visit Fairbanks is between April and mid-September with the warmest weather and longest days. Temperatures range 10-23°C and July is usually the warmest month, although summer sees regular rain showers. May to September is also the best time for watching wildlife including bears and wolves. The Midnight Sun season runs from late April to mid-August. Winters (October-March) are long, dark and very cold, ranging from zero down to -25°C. Spring (April-May) ranges from cold to mild with mostly dry weather, while Autumn (September-October) sees temperatures dropping from 10°C to below zero. Mid-August to mid-September is the best time to enjoy the Fall colours, while mid-August to mid-April is the best time to see the Northern Lights with the clearest visibility in the winter months.
