Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, which takes in injured and orphaned animals, including moose, bison, elk, deer, caribou and bears.
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, research, education and quality animal care. The centre takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides them with spacious enclosures and quality animal care.
Here you can safely get close to, observe and photograph some of Alaska’s largest land animals including moose, bison, elk, deer, caribou and bears.
Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home and the centre maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for animals. Visitors can tour the vast acreage on foot or by car. Enjoy the scenic 1.5-mile loop around the animal enclosures, learning about the resident animals and how they came into care here.
