DESTINATION HIGHLIGHTS
CALIFORNIA
California never disappoints. It’s the perfect destination to get so much out of a holiday. One of the best ways to explore the state is to self-drive, giving you the opportunity to experience the Pacific Coast Highway. This is arguably the most stunning coastal drive in the world with instant access to hundreds of beautiful beaches. Having your own car gives you the freedom to access some of the most diverse national parks such as Yosemite, Sequoia, and Joshua Tree. Boasting the most sought-after wine regions in the country such as Napa and Sonoma, a visit to California cannot be complete without indulging in the first-class wines on offer and dining at the multiple Michelin-starred restaurants.
MIGHTY 5 NATIONAL PARKS OF UTAH
As a lover of many outdoor pursuits, the National Parks of Utah hold a very special place in my heart. Known as the Mighty 5 of Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion, each has its own unique landscapes and natural wonders. There are endless opportunities to experience fascinating areas of natural beauty with activities such as hiking, climbing, fishing, kayaking and star-gazing. Experiencing Utah in a campervan (or RV as it’s locally known) was one of the most incredible and personal ways to experience each park’s diversity and be at one with nature, camping under the stars. Alternatively, Utah is very accommodating to the self-drive visitor with ample options and varied styles of lodgings.
BRITISH COLUMBIA
My passion love for British Columbia stems from its unparalleled diversity and natural grandeur, offering an endless array of experiences for every traveller. From the cosmopolitan allure of Vancouver to the charming seaside towns of Victoria and Tofino, British Columbia enchants with its urban sophistication and untamed wilderness. Whether its skiing in Whistler, whale-watching off the coast, or exploring the rainforests of the Pacific Rim, there’s a sense of wonder and adventure around every corner.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE...?
PLACE
Moab, UT stands out as my favourite destination with its unparalleled blend of natural wonders and adventurous spirit. Set amidst Utah’s breathtaking red rock landscapes, from the iconic Arches National Park to the towering cliffs of Canyonlands, every vista promises a new adventure. It’s not just the awe-inspiring scenery that draws me in, it’s the boundless opportunities for outdoor pursuits which keeps Moab at the top of my list.
HOTEL
The Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans holds a special place in my heart for its timeless elegance, historic charm, and unparalleled hospitality. From the moment I step into its grand lobby, I’m surrounded by Southern luxury and sophistication. The hotel’s rich history, dating back over a century, is exquisite in every detail, from its ornate architecture to its meticulously appointed rooms. Located in the French Quarter you are only steps away from the action.
EXPERIENCE
Being a huge lover of good food and wine, the Napa Wine train has to be one of my favourite destinations. The restored vintage railcars transport you through the picturesque Napa Valley vineyards, while you indulge in gourmet cuisine paired with exceptional wines. It’s a great way to fully immerse yourself in the area while letting someone else transport you between the stunning Napa vineyards.
TRAVEL TIPS
Tours and excursions can get very busy in North America, so it’s highly recommended to book early to avoid disappointment. We work closely with local operators to offer the most exclusive experiences which can be very popular, so it’s always important to book in advance so not to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
PACKING TIPS
The climate in North America is so diverse and at times, you may experience all seasons in one day. With this in mind, I would always consider packing many “layered” outfits to suit whatever the day’s climate may bring.
Always pack swimwear, regardless of the typical outdoor climate of where you are heading. A lot of our cooler climate featured properties offer world-class spas or thermal pools, so it’s always good to have your bathing costume to hand to enjoy the local facilities.
